Which one fits my pet? Weight, kibble and neck size checked

Every published limit, read literally. When a brand does not print a limit, the model goes to "check before you buy", never to "fits".

Enter your pet. The checker reads every device in our price check against what its maker publishes: the cat weight range of each litter box, the number of cats Whisker rates each Litter-Robot for, the kibble range of each feeder, the species each brand names, and the minimum dog weight and neck range of each GPS collar.

Example value. With several pets, enter the heaviest.

Widest piece. 1 in = 25.4 mm.

For GPS collars.

How each limit is read

What the checker cannot tell you

A litter box can fit your cat on paper and still not suit it: entrance height, a hooded or open top, noise and your cat's temper are not in any limit we can read. Brands publish acclimation advice for that reason, and several offer 30 to 90-day returns (Petlibro's Luma: "return it within 90 days to get a full refund", return shipping at your cost). Once you have a shortlist, compare what each one costs to run in the 3-year cost calculator, or see them all in the comparison.

Frequently asked questions

What is the weight limit for a self-cleaning litter box?

Each brand prints its own. In our check: Litter-Robot 5 and 5 Pro 3 to 30 lb, Litter-Robot 4 3 to 25 lb, Litter-Robot EVO 3 to 19 lb, Petlibro Luma 2.2 to 22 lb, CATLINK Scooper Pro series and PETKIT Purobot Max Pro 2, Max 3 and Ultra 3.3 to 22 lb. PetSafe's SmartSpin is for cats up to 25 lb and its OpenSky up to 33 lb, Neakasa's M1 up to 33 lb; neither prints a minimum.

Is there a self-cleaning litter box for a large cat?

On published maximums, the highest in our check are the PetSafe ScoopFree OpenSky and the Neakasa M1 Plus and M1 Lite Plus (33 lb), then the Litter-Robot 5 and 5 Pro (30 lb). CATLINK says its Open-X suits "even the largest cats, like Maine Coons" but prints no weight, so the checker lists it under "check".

How do I measure kibble size?

Lay a few pieces against a ruler and take the widest one, in millimeters (1 inch = 25.4 mm). Petlibro's Granary feeders take 2 to 15 mm, PETKIT's up to 12 mm (0.47 in), Whisker's Feeder-Robot 5/8 in (about 15.9 mm) or less.

Can kittens use a self-cleaning litter box?

The brands say to switch automatic cleaning off. Petlibro: "For kittens under 6 months, cats under 2.2 lb, or pregnant or nursing cats, please disable the auto-cleaning function". PETKIT: kittens under 6 months or under 1.5 kg "are not allowed to use it" unless Kitten Protection mode is on. Ask the brand and your vet before you leave a kitten with one.
